Lets see if I can finish this entry in one sitting considering I just drank this wonderful liquid.
The past several years sleeping has been hard about 95% of the time. No, I don't blame my World of Warcraft addiction. It actually was a big help for me. It gave me something to do while I waited to get tired. Yes there were nights where I was tired, but I did have to finish grinding, or running something so I pushed myself to stay awake, to the point of falling asleep in my recliner with my game still running.
You can get into bed at a decent time allowing for a 8 or even 9 hour sleep night, but you never fall asleep right away. You toss and turn and at that time, for me, is when everything wrong in my life comes flooding at once. Work issues, relationship issues past and present, realization of loneliness, hindsight, etc. I fall asleep every night with my TV on. For the light yes, but also for the sounds. Having something else on drowned out most of my own thoughts. I always have the same movies on so the familiar voices, sounds, and words I recite while the movie is going... sounds like a weirdo thing to do I know, but that's what helped me.
Drinking mostly every night helped a lot. Because I'm such a light weight it didn't take much to help me pass out. I loved the feeling of everything getting numb all the way down to my toes. Playing WoW and my fingertips couldn't feel the keyboard, I loved that feeling. It made me giggle everytime. Figuring that wasn't the smartest way to go about it... I guess, whatever!! I decided to try sleep-aids. I tried several, that didn't quite work the way I wanted it to. generic Equate brand, Advil PM, Tylenol PM, Unisom... all of those pills didn't help me pass out right away like I wanted. Instructions say to take before you get into bed. The down side of those were that I would take them and lie in bed for several hours before I would get tired, the good was that I wouldn't wake up in the middle of the night, and the bad was not getting that 8 hours of sleep before I had to get up in the morning, So I would be tired as shit and grumpy. So then knowing this, I would try to take them 1-2 hours before I was planning on getting into bed and just saying fuck it and right before bed have a drink to help it along. But that was far from smart, so that stopped quick.
I know I loved Nyquil because it would knock me out QUICK, but I didn't want to always take that, and eventually get immune to the cold and flu fighting ingredients. I know I needed a liquid to help me. How the fuck did I miss this?!?!?! Zzzquil!!! You are AMAZING!!!! I'm pretty sure I've seen it and heard of it before, but when it came the time to help me sleep I didn't really do much research. I'm sure if I did I would have found it sooner. A coupon actually brought it to my attention. Knowing how good Nyquil works with me, I would have been glad to buy it even without a coupon... Double pack of Zzzquil and I'm so happy!!! Since taking it, I've tracked the amount of time it takes to make me sleepy... the average time it gets me sleepy is 20 minutes. I wanna finish this entry so I'm pushing 35 minutes right now, but I was tired a while ago. So I will end this here. If anyone else has a problems sleeping and would like some help, I would suggest Zzzquil, but like with everything, make sure you can take it.
