Cosplay

I wish I was extremely creative. I have ideas of awesome stuff I'd like to make, but as far as actually attempting to make it is where I fall terribly short. I have so much respect for hardcore Cosplayers. The ones that put so much time, effort, blood and sweat in everything that they create. It fascinates me how they do it.

 Kamui is one of my favorites.
The costumes she makes, the detailed armor, the clean lines, the amazing painting, the weapons she makes, the list goes on and on. She will get her model of what she wants to make and then amazingly create it just like how the model looked. She makes it look effortless during the process, which she posts on her site. And seeing the final results you can't imagine that it all started off by being sheets of Worbla, Wonderflex, and Craftfoam.

Looking at the prices of these materials solidifies my realization that I will not be getting into this hobby. Aside from knowing that I won't be able to create such awesomeness I will just enjoy this craft from afar. Maybe if I ever do decide to purchase said materials, I will not be making an attempt of a full costume. Maybe I'll make myself a bracer or pauldron just for fun.
I was debating to leave the bottom pics out. Cosplay is cosplay in all it's forms no matter if you make your own costumes, or if you just throw together articles of clothes to look like the character of choice. Not much effort goes into this, but nonetheless by general definition it is still considered Cosplay. It will be, in my opinion, a Halloween costume. Now I appreciate the effort, but the originality isn't there.

I typed in Cosplay in google search and it came back with a bunch of half naked girls in skimpy outfits. And then I thought, why?
 Well duh, because majority of the female characters nowadays are half naked. oh and these girls are whores and they just go to these events to snag themselves a smart, nerdy guy. "I'M KIDDING!!!", I say as I think about how that doesn't sound like a bad idea. If I was hot and had a hot body, I'd probably be right there with them. seriously kidding, maybe.
It's cute, it's sexy and the homage to the characters is there,  but like I said this isn't cosplay to me.
