Role Models?... How about No!

I know you hear it all the time, newbie celebrities getting saddened with the public opinion of them. I recently watched a show that a girl was distraught by comments people left about her on social media. She's a very gorgeous model, amazing body, blonde, big boobs, ditzy but very sweet girl... you know, your typical target of haters. One comment that she read stood out to me. So much so that it required my opinion here, obviously.
Someone wrote that she was "a bad influence to young girls". Really?
First off, yes I was disappointed with how she handled public criticism. Trust me I know nothing of it and how they feel and how they take it. BUT it comes with the territory. You put yourself out there because you want to be a celebrity and you want the fame and attention. You need to learn to accept the ugly, hurtful, negative criticism that will come along with it.
Now getting back to the comment that was said. Did she ask to be a role model for young girls? I don't think so. How about the parents with opinions like that. Why not try to be the role model in your own kids lives. You be the positive influence for your child. OR a better suggestion, why not raise your kid to not be influenced by celebrities and just be their own person. Have their own thoughts. Make their own decisions later in life. Don't be a follower.
But then you think, Wait, this is the internet. We live in a sad time that is full of negativity that will never ever go away. People put others down to make them feel good about themselves. Nothing productive comes from hateful comments. We all can voice our opinions but in the end they are just that... opinions. They solve nothing but just shows how ignorant we are. We judge, we label, we know nothing of the people we do this to and yet we feel satisfied when we leave spiteful comments and you feel that you've won because you just showed them over the internet with words that you would never utter if that person was standing right in front of you. Yeah, boy you showed them right? Nope, you just made yourself look like an asshole. A bully, someone your kids should be proud of right? Nope. just a closed minded asshole. And sadly kids watch their parents do it this. Soaking up their attitudes like a damn sponge... and the cycle starts all over again. /sigh. That's life.

Don't eat the Sea Horse!!!!

Ok, so I saw an advertisement for Red Lobster, yummy right?! That lead me to google lobsters... then lead me to pics of crabs... and that lead me to a picture of the monster Coconut Crab. Then I wondered if people eat them, and yes in fact they do. The meat is considered a delicacy and an aphrodisiac, with a taste similar to lobster and crab meat. The best parts I guess, is the eggs from the females and the fat in the abdomen. Some popular recipes for them is by cooking them in coconut milk. And like other animals, depending on their diet, their meat can be poisonous. yikes! Which is why unless I'm living by myself in the woods, I will never catch and eat my own food. Thank you grocery stores!
seahorse
Next I decided to search for exotic things people eat and was sad when I saw a Sea Horse on the list. I didn't know they were endangered and Asian people eat them. They’re protected in China, and only legal when farmed, not when caught in the wild. Ive seen two different articles so I don't know which one holds more weight. One said they have a sweet taste and they cook them in oil and its served with mustard. And the other said they make for a terrible nasty meal, the little sharp bits get caught in the teeth, the gums, and there’s a nauseating salt taste to it.
But in China they’re as popular as ginseng.  And just like ginseng, they’re used to enhance a man’s virility.  They also reinforce the kidneys... Interesting.
