The people I love and keep around.

I am fortunate to have friends, and family even, that don't take it personal when we dont communicate on a regular basis. We know we are there for eachother and wont go anywhere, and we dont need constant reassurance about it. My friends know that I do like to keep to myself, they invite me places, and don't take it personaly when I kindly decline. I love them all for that. They dont get upset when my answer is "naw, ima stay home". I'm a bit older then the people around me now, I've done my fair share of going out and partying when I was younger back home. Seemed to get into trouble, didnt make the best choices back then and I'm kinda over it... A tell all would be rather interesting, if I ever did one. My point to that last part was simply to say, I've done the whole going out, I like my alone time now, and no one gives me shit bout it.
I am the type person, as Im sure with many others, that we know our friends and family have busy lives, we know that they have alot to do in their own lives that not to sound mean, but it does trump a phone call or text to you. And I'm ok with that.
Its sad because I know people that get all butt hurt because their once best friend now doesn't talk to them as much as they used to for some reason or another. They got a new boyfriend, they just got married, they had a new baby, they got new job, what ever the "new" thing in their life might be all they thought about was the fact that they hardly talk to them anymore... But you know what, communication works both fuckin ways. It would be a completely different story if you tried to keep contact, but they didn't resond with a simple text or an email. If you get a response saying, "I don't have time for you anymore, so we won't talk anymore.." Then you know what you have to do.
I dont cut people out of my life because they get to busy for me. Most single people surrounded by friends with families know where and how far to draw the line. You don't say "make time for me, I don't care if you have a family to go home to at night, lets go get shit faced and stay out all night"... NO you just don't do that. Or "hey my single friend just got a new boyfriend and now she has no time for me so ima not talk to her anymore" are you fuckin serious. Instead of being happy for her that she found someone, you get all bent out of shape because what? she has someone in her life now that fills a lonely void she had? Was she your only friend and you dont have anyone else to talk to? Goodness forbid you talk to or go out and do something with your own husband or kids. Did they do you wrong in some way?... no? then its that friend who should really re-evaluate keeping you in their life.
I will admit, I've cut people out of my life. It's been over many things, But to be honest, I don't feel like any of my reasons were pety. You be the judge.
Supposed friend borrows money and makes it a point to say they'll pay you back, but never does, and drops off the face of the earth. Let me make it really easy for you not to have to pay me back, and to releave my own worries about getting used again... snip.
Friends that have no remorse of being in a relationship but still trying to fuck anything that moves. Being in an open relationship is one thing, but cheating and not having the balls to tell your partner it's not working out because you don't want that confrontation, is just a bitch thing to do... snip.
I walk a fine line with this one because I dispise people that have no respect for other people, their feelings  or things that do not belong to them. They have no regard for anyone else but themselves. Me, me,me,me,me. There's a difference in living your life for yourself vs. just being an arrogant selfish asshole. The latter, I can't stand with a passion. GTFO... snip
To sum this entry up...
I have no animosity towards anyone in my life. Majority of it can be squashed with talking if I feel like they are someone I want to keep in my life. Yes I will try, but most times if someone shows their true colors I get turned off real quick and feel no need to salvage anything. It's mean, but really easy for me to shug it off and cut someone out. And trust me they will know. Numbers disappear from my phone real quick.  The ones that I do still have in my life, I love them all, and I'm sure they feel the same.

Japan's Declining Population

There are many other foreign countries that have declining populations but this one I hold dear to me simply because I am half Japanese... Well if you wanna get technical, 1/4 Japanese 1/4 Okinawan. But anywhos, So I read several stories, interviews, researches and the findings were quite interesting. I'm sure Japan's population decrease reasons are similar to others, but like I said, this one I hold dear to my heart, and blood, and my hairy arms and sideburns, and my little mustache hairs which I have to maintain on a regular basis (kidding - Okinawans are short and hairy sterotypes).
Many things are contributing to the decline, but I'll only hit on a few that I read articles on.
So the following was simply a population chart that I found from an article.
Reasons for the decline had both to do with the Men and Women.
When you think of Japanese women most people automatically think of a Geisha. Which to crush the idea of what most think a Geisha really is, they are NOT prostitutes. They simply are groomed to be refined hostesses and entertainers. In a way they are the most successful form of a business women. It is an art form that they study for years. Trained to entertain and be independent and a way to support themselves and not have to become a wife to be supported. In my opinion you can see because of that, why would you need a man?
An interview with a Japanese business women(not a Geisha) She simply has a successful business to run, she sees settling down and having a family will end all of what she has worked for. Married Japanese women tend to just be housewives, serving her husband and staying at home with the children. She has her men, but commits to no one and nothing. Has no need for constant male companionship, and to me that is a very admirable trait.
Ahhh yes, we need the men to invent things like this... err, I'm assuming this was a male invention, UNLESS! a women came up with it to prevent the men from needing to dip their wick in anything... brilliant!
When I first saw a clip of the above pic, I laughed so hard. dafuq the Japanese coming up with now.  The device is a virtual reality experience which men strap into(a full suit) that has undulating(why the fuck am I using that word) breast like shape and feel nubs and a hammer looking object that knocks the men's junk. It's yet another sex alternative that the wonderfully disturbing mind of Japanese culture have come up with. When men have these types of non-human contact sex devices what do they need women for? They simply do no work and can reach climax by just sitting there (sorry for that description) Unlike a dildo, sex doll, or a pocket pu**y, or regular old fashioned jerkin' it, you don't have to do any work once strapped in and it does it all for you = win!
And then finally... a simple right-to-the-point reason, They just have no interest in procreating. As with Im sure of many current generation people feel the same, this world is ugly, so much diseases running rampant, so much lying, so much cheating, so much bullying, so many harmful things that people do not want to expose a spawn to, so much has changed since they were growing up.
Or in my sad case, you just cant seem to keep anyone around long enough to knock you up... SOOO FUCKIN KIDDING!!!!!

sanitize your babies??? Nah

When I think of kids nowadays versus when I was a kid things were so much different. Was it because I lived in Hawaii being far removed from the continental US not as much outside influence, and usually a little late with the trends. Or was it just that growing up in the early 80's was the best fuckin time to grow up.
When I was a kid we played outside, we played in mud, we rolled in dirt and grass and our parents didn't care if we got dirty. That's what us kids did. We were tough, we didn't have parents squirting us with hand sanitizer everytime we touched something. We got scratches and scrapes, hydrogen peroxide that bitch, watch it bubble, put neosporin and slap a band aid on it and go back outside and play with the chickens.
There was no signs that say "wash your hands before you touch the baby". Just tell people don't touch your damn baby... done. Speaking of shit they have now for parents, baby things that you can control with your phone... You know what our parents had back then? fuckin' arms. It's like you can entertain your baby while you entertain yourself with your face glued to your phone... you know, the norm.  I am thankful for not growing up with all the ridiculous crap they have now. I work in a baby store, half the shit we sell is unnecessary rubbish. Garbage I would never buy if I had a kid, I don't care how convenient it would be to put my baby to sleep by simply pushing a button.
Now back to the sanitizing... I am thankful for the way I was brought up, The lack if parents sanitizing every fuckin thing in the house contributes to a strong ass immune system. I don't get sick and when I do I'm not a crybaby bitch about it. Just because I have a headache, I don't call out of work. I don't go to the doctor for no damn reason. Suck it up!
I know this is not part of my generation but rather just watching parents with good work ethic. As far as I can remember, I had parents with awesome work ethic. They didn't miss work because they got shitfaced the night before (well that was easy because they don't even drink). They didn't miss work because they just didn't feel like going in. They didn't miss work because they forgot to request off for a birthday party. They didn't miss work because they made a doctors appt and forgot they had to work that day too (they scheduled that shit on their day off)... Fuck I could go on... Regardless if I still lived at home and have an easier time not having to fully support myself, I'd still have the same work ethic. I'd still go to work everyday, contribute at home instead of being lazy, selfish and having my daddy still support me while I'm well in my 30's, but I digress.
How did this go from weak wimpy kids to work ethic?   oh that's right, It's like cause and effect... Bathe your kids in sanitizer their whole life and every germ they're exposed to threatens their immune system. They have no germ fighting immunities in their wimpy bodies because they never needed it.

Please stop littering

Despite the amazing look of this shore the fact is still there... it's glass, it started from littered bottles in the ocean. You stare in awe and think WOW the ocean turned these jagged broken glass into foggy smooth crystal looking pieces. I've done it, walking the beaches back home collecting the smooth colorful gems. Treasure!

So that picture got me thinking of even worse ocean pollution, Majority of the pictures I found was of Spring Break. Thousands of disgusting college kids swarm to beaches around the world and leave utter disaster behind with no remorse. The only thing they apparently care about is how drunk they got, how much they got laid and probably spread so much STDs (kidding, not kidding). So much idiocy in one spot it infuriates me. OK I'm not knocking them for wanting to relax and have fun while on college break,  But the proof is in the pictures, they have absolutely no regard for the beaches they destroy. Sadly these are the next generation of college educated youth helping to pollute our oceans with the litter they leave behind.  My heart hurts when I look at these pictures.
Who cleans it up? sure as shit ain't them. Volunteer Beach clean up shouldn't have to come out and clean up after these asshats. Sadly it is them. The people that care about this planet, cares about the beaches and more importantly the innocent, defenseless wildlife creatures that are impacted by the litter. Every year 8 billion tons of litter end up in oceans and lakes and about 100,000 sea animals die every year. If that number doesn't alarm you and you don't feel something inside you stirring with disgust for ocean litter, or litter in general then something is fuckin wrong with you.
The next couple pictures are disturbing, but very much full of impact at the point I'm trying to make here.
So disheartening. Turtle had a straw stuck in his nostril. When they pulled it out looking at the measurement it went well past his head. I'm sure it was so thankful for these people for removing it. Who knows how long it was living with that pain. Watching the video you couldn't help but feel so bad for it.
You know those 6 pack soda can plastic rings. So innocent but so deadly. I've seen pictures of birds caught in them, even a cat. I picked one of those pictures. This poor turtle. He grew into the ring, how fuckin terrible is that. This isn't a sea turtle but the ones that live in lakes and streams, showing that obviously litter is everywhere. Cutting off the plastic, you better not think that oh magically the turtle's shell is gonna pop itself back. No, it will forever be disfigured because of this.
Just because you think that you are being responsible and actually placing your trash in the proper receptacles, there could be so much things that could happen to the trash from the time you throw it away to the time it gets to it's trash resting destination. To avoid any kind of mishaps I've been taught from small kid time to cut through every single hole in the plastic.
I decided to demonstrate with my pics of the rings cut into small pieces. Imagine if everyone in the whoooooole world did this no more animals get stuck in these. At least I know I'm not a contributing factor to the horrible torture that these cause to wildlife.

And my final gripe...
These joyous celebrations of tons and tons of balloons being released into the sky. You don't think of the fact that you're actually littering when you do this. Do they magically disappear in to the atmosphere?  Is there a special balloon catching plane that flies over head catching all this rubbish? Did we forget the laws of gravity? Sorry Issac Newton, no one ever thought of the balloons ever coming back down once they were let go. /sigh
Unfortunately this poor bird and many more are the victims of said celebrations. The balloons themselves are often found in the stomachs of animals, the strings caught around their necks, legs, etc. You'd probably say why are the animals eating them? like plastic bags, floating in the water they are often mistaken for sea jellies, which are the food source of many marine animals.
Alright I'm done, if I was able to sway at lease one person to try their hardest to be aware of what they do with their trash, from recycling to not being a fuckin douchebag and toss their rubbish out of their car windows, to just picking up after them selves after gatherings at the local parks then it will make me so happy and although you don't think you make a difference, you do.

Everyone should read more... Read anything... Read Everything!!!!

It sounds so easy huh. For the busy people it seems like a long shot. How do you make time to read. I have no idea how "busy lives" are. I just pickup a book and read for hours. it is something that I can easily do so I can't even imagine how difficult it is for someone with a family to take care of. If that is your excuse as to why you don't read then I feel terrible for you. If you simply don't read because you think it to be a waste of time and pointless, then I feel sorry for you but in a totally different way then the aforementioned group of people. Maybe because I am an introvert and a hermit that I have all the time in the world to read. I find books to be fascinating. I find the writers to be amazing. Especially fantasy and sci fi writers. To create a whole world full of everything that they imagined. You can't help but think that what if  they can write all of this because subconsciously they are writing of what they went through in their previous life... HOLY SHIT!! I figured it out. I figured out the writing formula of the world's best sci-fi authors!!!! alright enough of that...
As I said I love to read and I love to learn... For a while I was obsessed with the idea of getting a whole set of the Encyclopedia Britannica.  But it's sooo expensive! I know you can just google info on stuff, but it's not the same. A a complete set of the Britannica would just be the ultimate. Sadly my only memory of our set back home in the 80's were those books termite hole riddled and it was funny finding how far termites chewed through the pages when you turn to the page and a plump little bugger was chillin in there.

My google search was trying to find out how long an average adult should read. I read a lot of people saying saying 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours. and then there was one that stood out to me. "You don't need to put a time limit on reading, you can read as long as you want you can read all day if you want." Yes that indeed is the beauty of reading there is no limit, but I think that person was missing the point, but it was good reply nonetheless.
The following was on a suggested site when I did my previous search. The quotes I put in, they weren't pert of the site.

10 Benefits of Reading: Why You Should Read Every Day

When was the last time you read a book, or a substantial magazine article? Do your daily reading habits center around tweets, Facebook updates, or the directions on your instant oatmeal packet? If you’re one of countless people who don’t make a habit of reading regularly, you might be missing out: reading has a significant number of benefits, and just a few benefits of reading are listed below.

1. Mental Stimulation

Studies have shown that staying mentally stimulated can slow the progress of (or possibly even prevent) Alzheimer’s and Dementia, since keeping your brain active and engaged prevents it from losing power. Just like any other muscle in the body, the brain requires exercise to keep it strong and healthy, so the phrase “use it or lose it” is particularly apt when it comes to your mind. Doing puzzles and playing games such as chess have also been found to be helpful with cognitive stimulation.

2. Stress Reduction

No matter how much stress you have at work, in your personal relationships, or countless other issues faced in daily life, it all just slips away when you lose yourself in a great story. A well-written novel can transport you to other realms, while an engaging article will distract you and keep you in the present moment, letting tensions drain away and allowing you to relax.

3. Knowledge

Everything you read fills your head with new bits of information, and you never know when it might come in handy. The more knowledge you have, the better-equipped you are to tackle any challenge you’ll ever face.
Additionally, here’s a bit of food for thought: should you ever find yourself in dire circumstances, remember that although you might lose everything else—your job, your possessions, your money, even your health—knowledge can never be taken from you.

4. Vocabulary Expansion

This goes with the above topic: the more you read, the more words you gain exposure to, and they’ll inevitably make their way into your everyday vocabulary. Being articulate and well-spoken is of great help in any profession, and knowing that you can speak to higher-ups with self-confidence can be an enormous boost to your self-esteem. It could even aid in your career, as those who are well-read, well-spoken, and knowledgeable on a variety of topics tend to get promotions more quickly (and more often) than those with smaller vocabularies and lack of awareness of literature, scientific breakthroughs, and global events.
Reading books is also vital for learning new languages, as non-native speakers gain exposure to words used in context, which will ameliorate their own speaking and writing fluency.

5. Memory Improvement

When you read a book, you have to remember an assortment of characters, their backgrounds, ambitions, history, and nuances, as well as the various arcs and sub-plots that weave their way through every story. That’s a fair bit to remember, but brains are marvellous things and can remember these things with relative ease. Amazingly enough, every new memory you create forges new synapses (brain pathways)and strengthens existing ones, which assists in short-term memory recall as well as stabilizing moods. How cool is that?

6. Stronger Analytical Thinking Skills

Have you ever read an amazing mystery novel, and solved the mystery yourself before finishing the book? If so, you were able to put critical and analytical thinking to work by taking note of all the details provided and sorting them out to determine “whodunnit”.
That same ability to analyze details also comes in handy when it comes to critiquing the plot; determining whether it was a well-written piece, if the characters were properly developed, if the storyline ran smoothly, etc. Should you ever have an opportunity to discuss the book with others, you’ll be able to state your opinions clearly, as you’ve taken the time to really consider all the aspects involved.

7. Improved Focus and Concentration

In our internet-crazed world, attention is drawn in a million different directions at once as we multi-task through every day. In a single 5-minute span, the average person will divide their time between working on a task, checking email, chatting with a couple of people (via gchat, skype, etc.), keeping an eye on twitter, monitoring their smartphone, and interacting with co-workers. This type of ADD-like behaviour causes stress levels to rise, and lowers our productivity.
When you read a book, all of your attention is focused on the story—the rest of the world just falls away, and you can immerse yourself in every fine detail you’re absorbing. Try reading for 15-20 minutes before work (i.e. on your morning commute, if you take public transit), and you’ll be surprised at how much more focused you are once you get to the office.

8. Better Writing Skills

This goes hand-in-hand with the expansion of your vocabulary: exposure to published, well-written work has a noted effect on one’s own writing, as observing the cadence, fluidity, and writing styles of other authors will invariably influence your own work. In the same way that musicians influence one another, and painters use techniques established by previous masters, so do writers learn how to craft prose by reading the works of others.

9. Tranquility

In addition to the relaxation that accompanies reading a good book, it’s possible that the subject you read about can bring about immense inner peace and tranquility. Reading spiritual texts can lower blood pressure and bring about an immense sense of calm, while reading self-help books has been shown to help people suffering from certain mood disorders and mild mental illnesses.

10. Free Entertainment

Though many of us like to buy books so we can annotate them and dog-ear pages for future reference, they can be quite pricey. For low-budget entertainment, you can visit your local library and bask in the glory of the countless tomes available there for free. Libraries have books on every subject imaginable, and since they rotate their stock and constantly get new books, you’ll never run out of reading materials.
If you happen to live in an area that doesn’t have a local library, or if you’re mobility-impaired and can’t get to one easily, most libraries have their books available in PDF or ePub format so you can read them on your e-reader, iPad, or your computer screen. There are also many sources online where you can download free e-books, so go hunting for something new to read!
There’s a reading genre for every literate person on the planet, and whether your tastes lie in classical literature, poetry, fashion magazines, biographies, religious texts, young adult books, self-help guides, street lit, or romance novels, there’s something out there to capture your curiosity and imagination. Step away from your computer for a little while, crack open a book, and replenish your soul for a little while.

Women Role Models

You see it every day, Women in entertainment media getting bashed for the shocking things they do but the more you talk about it, the more they win. The more they stay in the public eye. More power to them. The sheep that the general population is, falls right into their web. You don't even think about it, but even the negative opinions and comments are fueling their fire. They stay relevant = they win. It's that simple. How easy would it be to see people fall out of the lime light if people simply didn't talk about them, didn't care what they did, what they say, or the things that they post.
I get sad when I see certain celebrities that no matter how much people bash, there are still people that look up to them, try to emulate them and consider them legitimate role models. They're popular, beautiful and rich. International Women's Day brought on a naked tweet from a certain celebrity with the caption "when you have nothing to wear" or something to that effect. Which was hilarious to me because this chick indeed does have clothes to wear. Yes she has an amazing body that she just wanted to show off and she's beautiful, but I got confused because all the people saying negative things are probably part of the several million followers on her Twitter account. I don't Twitter at all so I'm not exactly sure how it works, but don't you see people's tweets if you follow them? And it's still probably a contest to see how much followers you have. More followers = better celebrity status?
I only know of this tweet because I caught up on my TV Talk shows on Hulu this weekend and all the monologues were talking about it.
So then this got me thinking of someone currently I think is a superb role model to young girls, all women actually.
Cara Santa Maria. The following link is her official Website:

Cara Santa Maria Official Website

She is as Beautiful as she is Brilliant, she's nerdy, she's silly, she's adorable. Just comes off a genuinely down to earth person. Isn't in the media for negative shock value, but simply to spread the knowledge of science, learning and how being a nerd fricken rules.
Her Website has a link to her podcast, Talk Nerdy, a must watch. Watching it also introduced me to other brilliant women in the science world today.
She does have several thousand twitter followers, but it should be in the millions in my opinion. If pointless celebrities have millions, brilliant celebrities should have just as much. But that just goes to show you how society thinks. Popularity, shock, drama, and to be honest celebrities that would post nudes rather then something intelligent has more of an influence on this world over the ones that use their minds, science and knowledge to make the world better.

As much as I will say schooling was not for me it wasn't until after high school in my mid 20s that I had the aspirations to learn more. Intentions to go back to school to study Biology fell to the wayside as life went on. Finding the money and having the motivation to balance working and going to school and doing research on how to get a student loan went out the window. Hearing horror stories from people saying that student loans haunt you for a long time scared the shit out of me.
Herpetology, a field of Zoology, was my interest. The study of reptiles and my fascination with snakes Pythons to be exact sparked my interest. Gosh darn it... I'm getting sad when I think about it now. So this is the importance of these role models for young girls... Influence the young generation to learn in their youth and aspire to do so much and continue your education while you're young, and for parents to stress the importance of furthering their education.
Smart = Sexy.

I saw this and agreed :-)

Water faucet experiment.

When I moved into my apartment, one of the first things I noticed was that my bathroom sink water was not hooked up right. Normally cold on the right and hot is on the left... well that's what I was always used to anyways. So the faucet handles were build correctly(color correct on the handles), but the plumber was not on his game when the tube hook ups were happening. I've grown up with a Dad that fixed his own shit around the property and a Mom that took the initiative to figure shit out for herself. So I'm not sitting here crying or calling the complex office demanding for them to come and fix it because I'm a helpless waif. It ain't that big of a deal. Honestly if I wanted to, I can fix it myself... wrench, turn off the water flow, unhook the tubes and connect to correct pipes. It's not rocket science.
But in an effort to be my own guinea pig, I've been trying to see how long it would take me to train my brain to select the correct faucet. In my brain, I know that the colors are not correct, I know that the right one is hot water and the left cold, but yet I still turn on the right(blue handle) and don't realize it until the water is gradually getting hot. Is it a learning disability?... lols. please no. Weeellll I did have a couple "special" classes when I was in elementary for the slow learning children... oh for fuck sake... too much share time eh.
ANYWHOS!!!!!
So this is going to be my experiment on myself...
I have taped labels with the correct water temperature written on them to the tops of the faucet handles. I will see if this will help my brain select the right one or if reflexes will take over and I just will reach for the opposite handles. If I really wanted it to be a guinea pig study, I would make a stat chart and keep track of how many times I make a correct or incorrect faucet use decision. That might be a little too crazy... Wait what the heck am I talking about... I am crazy... I'm doin' it!!!!. Aaaand I might just make a follow up blog explaining my findings.
Oh and just some side notes. I usually don't even realize I turned on the hot water because I don't leave the water running long enough to notice the temperature change. I wash my hands faster then the temp change, I don't leave the water running while I'm brushing my teeth. Although my complex has one set cost for Water/Trash/Sewer every month that doesn't mean I'm going to waste water. Wasting water annoys the shit out of me.

Random Thoughts: Popcorn Meat

The subject of this post.. meaty part of the popcorn
You know that fleshy part of the popcorn?
Is it even called anything?
I don't know what its called but I know that it's everyone's favorite part... the other part has the pieces from the exploded kernels that get stuck in your teeth. Nobody likes that.
So naturally, as I do, I decided to google that shit!
I typed "popcorn meat".
Clicked on "images" and found some interesting stuff. Nothing I was actually looking for but interesting nonetheless.

cut up chicken nuggets in popcorn?

Popcorn with Bacon fat, bacon and maple syrup

roast beef, pickled onions and popcorn
I've tried this... not so good

popcorn sprinkled with BBQ sauce rub

bacon caramel popcorn with bacon salt
Bacon popcorn seasoning

I think of pretty random stuff a lot and was gonna make a new blog just focused around the random stuff I think about and research on, be it mainly for images (like this post) or just information. I don't think it quite fits into this "Random Topics" blog.
Majority of what I think about is rather ridiculous, dumb PG rated stuff. Most times I think to myself "why the fuck did I think about that, your're reeeeal dumb".
But it's how I entertain myself. I like to have a wealth of useless knowledge. And if the stupid things that run through my mind puts a smile on someone's face or even goes as far as to make them giggle or even think about stuff and google about things they think of themselves, then I'd feel justified.
